If MIFE is forgotten, the patient should take it as soon as they remember. If it has been more than 48 hours since the patient took MIFE, they should contact the prescriber for further instructions.
If MISO is forgotten and it has been more than 48 hours since the patient took MIFE, the patient should take MISO right away and contact the prescriber at the follow-up appointment.
Buccal administration of MISO[10]
- If vomiting occurs less than 1 hour after taking MIFE or during buccal absorption of MISO, the patient should contact a prescriber / pharmacist for assessment.
- If vomiting occurs more than 30 minutes after swallowing MISO fragments, no action is required.
Vaginal insertion of MISO[10]
- If tablets fall out before bleeding starts, the patient should re-insert the tablet or contact a healthcare professional if unable to reinsert.
- If tablets come out while bleeding, no action is required; in most cases, a sufficient portion of the medication will have been absorbed.
In any case, if bleeding does not start within a few hours, the patient should contact a healthcare professional.
